Watford have signed winger Juanfran from Real Betis for a reported €1.5 million fee, according to the Spanish club’s official website.
The 25-year-old, who can also play in defence or as a forward, has joined La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna on a season-long loan and will become a Watford player ahead of the 2015-16 season.
Juanfran has recently rejected an approach from Championship rivals Middlesbrough, despite the lure of working with fellow Spaniard Aitor Karanka. The pair know each other well from their time at Real Madrid.
Juanfran came through the youth system at Getafe and featured in La Liga and the UEFA Cup for the Azulones before joining Villarreal B.
A move to Real Madrid B followed, and the winger impressed enough to be handed a debut for the first-team by Manuel Pellegrini in May 2010.
He signed for Real Betis on a free transfer in the summer of 2013 and made 48 appearances in all competitions for Betis last season.
